Support hours

When we're on, spelled out.

All windows are Australian Eastern Time, AEST and AEDT, and are written into your agreement rather than left to interpretation.

8am – 5pmBusiness hours — Monday to Friday. Unlimited remote support on every plan, any severity.
5pm – 10pmAfter hours — Monday to Friday. Critical and high-severity incidents only, at published rates.
8am – 6pmAfter hours — Saturday and Sunday. Critical and high-severity incidents only, at published rates.
SeverityWhat it meansAfter hours
P1 — CriticalBusiness stopped. A full outage, a site or key system down, or an active security incident.Attended
P2 — HighA major function impaired for a team or department, with no workaround.Attended
P3 — NormalA single user affected, or a workaround exists.Next business day
P4 — LowRequests, changes and scheduled work.Next business day

Severity is set by three objective questions, not by how the ticket is worded: who is affected, is there a workaround, and which business process is stopped. We'd rather agree that test with you in advance than argue about it at 9pm. P3 and P4 tickets raised after hours are logged immediately and picked up at 8am the next business day.

Outside all covered windows, monitoring, security tooling and backups keep running — they don't depend on anyone being at a desk. Critical incidents arising outside covered hours are handled under the emergency rate below.

Response commitments

Targets we put in the contract.

Response time means the time until your ticket is acknowledged and work begins — not time to fix. Targets are measured against business hours, AEST and AEDT, and spelled out in the agreement. Fortified plans carry a priority 15-minute critical response. During an engaged after-hours callout, P1 and P2 targets apply as below.

30 minP1 Critical — business stopped
1 hrP2 High — major function impaired
4 hrsP3 Normal — single user affected
1 dayP4 Low — requests & changes

Beyond the plans

No IT yet? Start with a fixed-price setup package.

If you're a new business, or an established one without real IT in place, a monthly plan isn't the starting point — a proper setup is. Our Foundations and Launch packages cover computers, wi-fi, printers, email, storage, and security for one fixed quote, fully documented and handed over. Move onto a managed plan afterwards only if you want to.

One-off engagement

Essential Eight Gap Analysis.

A one-off, fixed-fee analysis of an environment we didn't build — yours today, or one you've inherited. You get your current position against the Essential Eight, evidenced control by control, plus a prioritised and costed roadmap to close the gaps. No managed plan required.

Gap Analysis

From $3,500 AUD, fixed fee + GST

For businesses on another provider, or running IT in-house, who need to know where they actually stand.

  • Assessed using ASD's published Essential Eight Assessment Process Guide
  • Evidence-based — configurations inspected, not a questionnaire
  • Control-by-control findings using ASD's standardised outcomes
  • Prioritised, costed remediation roadmap you can act on with anyone
  • Plain-English summary for owners and boards

Analysis & uplift

Quoted on scope

The analysis, then the work — we close the gaps we found and hand back a documented environment.

  • Everything in Gap Analysis
  • Remediation delivered to your agreed target level
  • Fixed written quote before any work starts
  • Analysis fee credited if you proceed to uplift
  • Optional handover to a managed plan afterwards — never a condition
Talk through scope

A note on scope: we run Gap Analysis on environments we didn't implement, because a provider grading its own work isn't an analysis. For our own managed clients, Essential Eight alignment is ongoing work under the Fortified plan with monthly control reporting — not a self-assessment. If you need independent assurance for an insurer, auditor or tender panel, tell us and we'll point you to an independent assessor.

Pricing questions

The fine print, out in the open.

What actually qualifies for after-hours support?

Critical and high-severity incidents — a full outage, a key system or site down, an active security incident, or a major function impaired for a team with no workaround. Password resets, single-user faults, new starter setups and change requests are logged immediately and picked up at 8am the next business day. We set severity on three objective questions rather than on wording: who is affected, is there a workaround, and which business process is stopped. Agreeing that test up front is what keeps after-hours meaningful and your bill predictable.

Is the Essential Eight work in Fortified the same as an assessment?

No, and we're careful about the difference. Under Fortified we build and maintain your environment toward Essential Eight alignment and report monthly on which controls are in place and which are outstanding. That's implementation work, not a rating of it. A formal position against the maturity model is our separate Gap Analysis, which we run on environments we didn't build. And if you need independent assurance for an insurer, auditor or tender, that calls for an independent assessor — we're your implementer, and we'll refer you rather than grade our own work.

What counts as a user?

A person with a company login. Shared mailboxes, meeting room accounts, and service accounts don't count. We reconcile the user count with you monthly, so you only ever pay for real people.

Is onboarding extra?

Onboarding is charged at one month's plan fee, invoiced on signature. It covers discovery, documentation, tooling deployment, security baseline configuration and handover — and it's backed by our 90-day onboarding guarantee. If your environment needs remediation before we can manage it responsibly — unsupported hardware, unlicensed software — we quote that separately and in writing before anything starts.

What's not included?

Hardware, software licences, and project work (like office moves or major migrations) are billed separately, always quoted in advance. Day-to-day support is never metered.

We're a small team — under 20 people. Can you help?

Yes. Below about 20 users the standard per-user rate doesn't reflect what it actually costs to look after you properly, so we quote those engagements individually rather than pretending one number fits everyone. You get the same plans, the same tooling and the same response targets — priced honestly for your size. Our minimum monthly engagement is $900 + GST.

Do we need a particular Microsoft 365 licence?

Professional and Fortified require Microsoft 365 Business Premium. The email security, identity protection, device management and data-loss controls in those plans are delivered through it — without it, we can't provide what we've promised. If you're on Business Standard or below, we'll cover the upgrade during onboarding, or quote you Essential instead.

Can we change plans?

Yes — upgrade any time, or downgrade at the end of any month with notice. Plan changes are pro-rated; there's no penalty either way.
